2025 CARNAVAL SF SEASON HAS BEGUn!
Otro Mundo del Azul Profundo
…is Loco Bloco’s major production of 2025 and will be performed for the San Francisco International Arts Festival and the SF Carnaval Grand Parade, both in the month of May. Through exploring the deep, mysterious worlds of our oceans, we reclaim the ancient relationship of our Indigenous and African ancestors to the oceans of the world. From Africa to Latin America to Polynesia, our stories of creation, sustenance and migration are woven into the currents of the seas. Otro Mundo del Azul Profundo is a call to marginalized urban Bay Area communities to reconnect with the wonders of the ocean and bay waters that surround us. Our vision is to manifest a larger than life tide of dance, percussion, song and floating imagery - jellyfish, octopus, tropical fish and mythical black and brown mermaids.

Open Community Classes
Our year-round Community Classes are taught by LB’s leading instructors, offering dance and percussion technique in the genres of samba, samba reggae, reggaeton. Dance students will work on basic technique and styling in fun, supportive and highly aerobic sessions. Drum students will develop basic technique on a variety of Brazilian percussion instruments and learn to play polyrhythms together with fun and challenging breaks. Classes are open to all levels of experience and all ages.
